A place to learn the long view
We are a circle of growers in central Kentucky who meet to shape, prune, and share the slow craft of bonsai — from a first nursery juniper to trees tended across decades.
Founded in 2023, the Central Kentucky Bonsai Society brings together beginners and seasoned growers alike. We meet on the third Saturday of each month for demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and the simple pleasure of looking closely at one another's trees.
A meeting might be a guest artist styling a collected conifer, a member's repotting clinic, or a quiet morning of critique and conversation. Each September we mount our annual public show, and the club keeps a lending library, a shared tool kit, and group buys on soil, pots, and nursery stock.
No tree, and no grower, is too young to start. Bring a question, a cutting, or just your curiosity — guests are always welcome.

What to expect at a meeting
When: the third Saturday of every month, 9 AM.
Where: the University of Kentucky South Farm, 4321 Emmert Farm Lane, Lexington, KY 40514.
Cost: our monthly meetings are always free — come grow with us.
Bring: a tree to work on if you like, or just yourself.
